Aromatics Infused Chicken Broth

Flavorful broth for your post-op bariatric liquid diet.

I have some things to say about chicken broth and the post-op WLS diet.

It doesn’t have to be completely boring. Just a few changes will take that broth to another flavor level!

You know what. If you’ve just had surgery, be kind to yourself. Hang in there. I know it’s ridiculously difficult. You may be annoyed to even see anything about chicken broth. I’m here to help. I’m

While you need to stick closely to your liquid diet for your best healing…know that adding some flavors to your broth will seriously cut that chicken broth DRUDGERY and make it just bearable enough.

In this recipe, we’ll be adding some “aromatics” which is carrot, onion and celery. No..no…you can’t eat those things. But you can simmer them in your broth and then strain them out. It really does make all the difference!

You can also freeze the chicken broth for later…even after the liquid diet.

Broth is always considered a liquid. There may be days you have an upset tummy. Or it’s a cold and rainy day and you’d rather sip on something warm. Having different flavors of chicken broth in your freezer will make you very happy later! I’ve used a simple ice cube tray in the past to freeze chunks of broth and later move them to a gallon ziplock bag. Remove a few and heat in the microwave!

Hang in there friend. You’ve got this and you’ll be on the other side soon!
